COVID-19 - Building a national diagnostic centre in Cambridge
This is the second free event in our 'Project sessions' series.
We will will feature a special guest John Swales, AstraZeneca, talking about building a national diagnostic centre in Cambridge for Covid-19: from project initiation to business as usual operation and will include the project management techniques, bumps in the road and project and personal lessons learned.
There will be a breakout session where you can share your own views and pose questions.

John Swales: Global Project Manager, AstraZeneca
John joined AstraZeneca in 2001 and has held various positions in the Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics organisation, initially supporting oncology project teams before moving into the cardiovascular TA as a DMPK functional project leader focused on the diabetes portfolio. During this time he helped progress several projects from early discovery into the clinic. John was a founder member of the Mass Spectrometry Imaging (MSI) team within Pathology Sciences, supporting projects across all therapeutic areas and representing MSI on project teams. John completed a PhD in Mass Spectrometry Imaging at Sheffield University in 2018 prior to starting a secondment as a Global Project Manager, supporting various pre-clinical Oncology projects. John is now a permanent member of the Early Oncology Project Management team within the AZ Global Portfolio and Project Management organisation.
