Across the various sectors of industry, very many projects involve major investment and long timelines. However, few operate with the same levels of uncertainty as is in life science, and have as much diversity in the mix of functional disciplines that take part – with the resulting differences in (strong) opinions.
Within a major project, major decisions are rarely the sole responsibility of one body. There needs to be a dynamic relationship between teams at different levels – the operating project team and so called ‘governance’ – teams of senior managers.
One common view in our sector is that major decisions are taken slowly and often delayed. This eLearning course will explain the dynamics of organisational decision-making, and how many firms are evolving the process to make it both more timely and more reliable.
