The Pharma world has in recent decades been successful, but operates with a marked low level of productivity. Aspects of this are of course due to the uncontrollable uncertainties of new molecule development. But not all. How much do we know about which of different variants of project management practice in our organisations are the most efficient? Typically – very little.
This is important as the pressures on the Pharma industry mount to cut costs, compete and survive in today’s world.
This course will prepare experienced project managers for a future where measures around PM effectiveness are routinely collected, with artificial intelligence used to help us learn and focus on what is most successful. These measures are significantly different to the task/time/finance project metrics we may be using right now. We will review more advanced developments in other sectors, as well as introducing the work that PIPMG have done to recommend useful project management, rather than ‘project’, measures. You will be able to prepare some analyses using case study data and share views with peers from across our sector.
